About MusicTAP

MusicTAP has provided information and commentary since 2002. Since, TAP has built a reliable community of readers, who have contributed to the framework as well as to the content of the site.  MusicTAP has worked hard to acquire the trust and respect of it’s readers as well as that of the industry, many who read MusicTAP.  MusicTAP continues to develop to become an even greater presence. Our goal is to provide reliable info to everyone, however, we cater to the 35-70 range, the group that has experienced the infancy and upward growth of Rock (and ALL of its offshoots as well as genres that preceded Rock such as Jazz, Blues, Country, etc).

MusicTAP will continue to provide its usual brand of information and commentary as long as it remains relevant.  When relevancy disappears, so will we.

    Hi,

I was wondering if there was someone at MusicTAP that we can get in touch with directly about sending a particular press release to. We’ll be working with a project/client related to music that is quite novel and nostalgic. It’s something that MusicTAP readers would really be into I believe.

    Thanks!

Hello, happy new year 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 at least. Been away too long. I used to visit the Bits daily and then tiptoe over here. Your mention of YES – Close To The Edge being announced briefly for DVD-Audio caught my eye as most surround references do. The official story is that not all of the multi-channel masters were confirmed available (ala Aja) so had to be cancelled.

Also of interest are the two upcoming GENTLE GIANT re-releases of Free Hand and Interview, where the DVDs are said to include unreleased quad mixes! This is not too far-fetched as these albums were released during the quadraphonic era, plus the fact that Capitol did actually release Babe Ruth on quad tape! They were likely prepared too late to catch the bus and have sat in the vaults all this time. We’ll know the truth when they show up!

    Regards, Tim
