Some Action
EP

70s styled punk hasn’t gone away; the blood of new NEW Wavers, who have something to say and think old school is the way to say it, is reinvigorating it.   Some Action, the self-titled EP by this New Yawk quartet shows a channeling capacity to write fast-paced, New York Punk songs in ways that we’ve heard before but making them fun and fresh…and nostalgically reminiscent of fellow NYCers, The Ramones.  That quality is immediately recognizable in the first song, “Drawing Blood”.  With a Joey Ramone-like chorus, ‘I’m drawing bluh-ud, I’m drawing bluh-ud’ paying homage to ‘What can you do-o, What can you do-o’ from “Beat on the Brat”, you can’t help but be drawn in for the rest of this 5-song EP.  The songs are great.  You’ll find yourself going back and playing them again, wishing there was more.  And what’s cool?  The disc is a hybrid clear plastic with a small CD built into the center; makes for cool looks.  Labels, take note; this one’s recommended…highly.
