The latest offering from MEST on Maverick Records (I’d like to send a personal shout-out to Madonna), is just a fun record to listen to.

I'm in the camp that prefers their punk-rock with catchy hooks and I don’t enjoy angst for the sake of angst. A lot of punk-rock purists would say this type of Good Charlotte punk-rock is nothing more than power pop, but let’s not spend too much time on labels here.

And speaking of Good Charlotte, Benji Madden appears courtesy of Epic Records, on "Jaded", which will undoubtedly push the credibility of MEST straight to the top. MEST has been around for a while and saw some commercial success from their last album, Destination Unknown with "Cadillac", although not as much as they should have. I suspect that their newest release, simply titled MEST, will break the mainstream barrier— and with good reason.

This style of music has been pushed to the forefront recently, and bands come dime-a-dozen. There is not a lot I can say about the music, which hasn’t already been said a thousand times, but MEST is the cream of the crop, and shouldn’t be ignored.
