Elsiane has been critically compared to Bjork with her unique voice and ability to create songs that deviate from the norm and yet entrancing.  This is supposed to be the nature of Rock, to create in a vast field of colours and sound.  Elsiane claims influence from film pioneers like David Lynch, Darren Aronofsky, and Chris Cunningham.  Those filmmakers and their films cross boundaries.  Elsiane creates music that is rich in film soundtrack sound while working in the same palette of pop music that Bjork works in.  Elsiane’s music, like her influences and Bjork, crosses boundaries as well.

Soft, moody, ambient, and challenging, Elsiane’s debut release, Hybrid, joins electronics, and strings with her unique vocal manipulations (echoes of Delores O’Riordon) to construct songs that will entice you like the song of the siren.

Elsiane is not for everyone, to be sure.  But if you’re fans of her film influences, then you’ll find Elsiane to your liking.  She certainly walks the same paths.  As Bjork brought a new audience to a new and rewarding way to listen to music, Elsiane intends to do the same with hers.  Hypnotic.
