Ain't payin' taxes so much fun? I received a notice today that the income tax paid to the State of California was insufficient to cover my fair share. Upon further review, we find that I "make" twice as much as I really do. While it'd be nice to make as much as they thought, it ended up ok. But what a headache otherwise.
So..we have a lot of cool news and some other toys for you. The news actually have some fun info; stuff you'll obviously be happy to hear and mark down on the calendars. While you're at it, readers of Duane's Pit Stop can catch up with the latest in Punk news in his new Pit Stop.
The capsules and other reviews show up early next week...yeah, yeah, I know...
It's been a day and a half so we're signing off. Have a great, great weekend.
BTW, who's doing Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 tonight or this weekend?

It was as I've feared. No news. Well, there was a little but oh so negligible. And it happens now and again so we'll leave you with the intended review, George Bennett's spin of Everclear's So Much for the Afterglow on DVD-Audio from DTS Entertainment. And with that, we take leave, awaiting a more fruitful Friday. Hang tight!

Bill Hunt went off to the wilds of the desert to experience an historical flight of the first private manned space ship called SpaceShipOne. I was unable to attend this momentous event so Bill had to take in the experience alone. In any case, I recommend that you take a run over to The Bits and check out the pics that he snapped of the ship.
It's another quiet day in musicland today so we'll move it along and get out to do some other things we've been meaning to do. We are a tad behind in site maintenance.
It seems to be official. Most of you like the bolding as it provides a point of reference. I'll continue to bold the titles, names, and dates on the main page but will eliminate the style for everything else.
Oops...no reviews for today but hang tight. We have a whole slew of capsules coming from the lot of us. We also have another DVD-Audio review of DTS' Everclear title, So Much for the Afterglow coming tomorrow by George Bennett. We also have a concert review for Rush coming soon from a reader of TAP. We'll see you then.
Don't forget the reader reviews. If you have a single paragraph about a favourite current album that you have, share it with the world. Write me here and use READER REVIEW in the subject line.

I thought that Morrissey fans would be pleased to know that Sanctuary will issue a DVD single for his "First of the Gang to Die." This DVDS will be released on July 13.

Here's a note for people who have been waiting for the new Interpol album. It is expected from Matador Records in September. We don't have the actual date but given Matador's recent foray into SACD with the Mission of Burma album, we're kinda hoping that they follow suit with the sophomore effort. The Interpol album will be called Antics and will contain 10 tracks. It is expected to be a bit of a departure from Bright Lights. Fingers are crossed right here.
Universal Music Latino has let TAP know of a release by Ed Calle called Ed Calle Plays Santana that is supposed to be pretty dang good. This comes on August 3.

Now it moves more spaces for a new August 24 release date. I just hope it isn't as difficult to pick up than Michael Oldfield's Tubular Bells 2003 DVD-Audio that I STILL have been unable to acquire.

It's the first day of Summer and well, it's great!! But I'm an every season kind of person and I love them all equally. Being from Illinois (originally), I know what it's like to walk through 4 distinct seasons. And I love the beginning of all of them even if I'm happy for the end. I'll bet I'm not alone. The bummer about Southern California is that it becomes quite bland over time, seasonally. But it's Summer...
We hope that all Fathers enjoyed their day yesterday. I certainly enjoyed my day. I have a daughter and a son and both got me incredible gifts. My daughter got me a max's kansas city tee since I was a big fan. However, she got the request off a little late so she contacted Yvonne Sewell-Ruskin, present owner of max's kansas city. Yvonne did a special overnight for her and I was just floored at the special treatment. It makes the shirt almost unwearable (to be framed.) But much love to Yvonne for all that she has done to expedite this special gift. And of course, to Shari and Justin for their gifts and for their gift of being.
We have a few reviews today. We have the promised Del Castillo review from our George Bennett while I dived into new ground with an excitable Secret Machines issue, Now Here is Nowhere. I'm constructing a quick listen to an Eno reissue from Virgin (Holland). The album is a DSD master for Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) and will post this as soon as I finish.
I had promised 2 sets of Capsule Reviews but decided to hold them for several days with the first coming tomorrow. The reason for this is..hey, it's a lot of stuff we're throwing out there today and we don't want to overwhelm anyone. So, to ensure that everything gets their viewtime, we'll dish it out less copiously.
Finally, we have a review of Journey's show in Temecula, CA at the Pechanga Resort. We sent our girl, Sarah Hunt, to make sure they got it all right and she has come back all safe and sound and full of review. Read her thoughts on the show and then attend one in your area if Journey is the stuff for you.
We've drudged up some useful info for you after all that and we're anxious to fill your calendar up with said news. So dig in...
We'll see you tomorrow.
By the way...do you folks mind if I quit bolding overmuch? I don't know if you like it or not so I'm going to take a chance but it is, after all, your site. I'll continue to do the titles and artists but leave the rest alone. So...?
Don't forget the reader reviews. If you have a single paragraph about a favourite current album that you have, share it with the world. Write me here and use READER REVIEW in the subject line.

The styles of issue are PA (Parental Advisory) and Edited. Those come on September 7. On September 14, Virgin releases an as yet untitled The Thrills album.
