We 've reached the weekend. How fast that one sprung by. Regardless, it's here and we're ready for it.

We have the latest Duane's Pit Stop for you. You can dive in and catch the crazy bastard's pics and...well..catch up on his usual digest of Punk News.

We also have John Dunphy's review of Entwine's newest CD issue, Dieversity. Stop in and catch what John has to say about Dieversity. I haven't heard it but this review has convinced me to check it out.

Well, I lied..sorta..about having the Cheap Trick review of their Legacy/Epic issue of The Essential Cheap Trick ready for your consumption today but having received The Rolling Stones Singles package, I got all twisted and had to drop what I was doing. And you can expect some notes on that in the very very near future. I do have to catch up, you know.

On Monday, we will definitely have a review of Steely Dan's Gaucho on SACD by our George Bennett. So make sure you come back for that and more.

Have a neato weekend, k? I'm out! Staffers...you guys rock!!

Don't forget the reader reviews. If you have a single paragraph about a favourite current album that you have, share it with the world. Write me here and use READER REVIEW in the subject line.

I'm quite excited for the upcoming Patti Smith Columbia release called trampin' that's expected on April 27 in both CD and Double LP. We've had the pleasure to hear some of these tracks and all I can say is that they are as great as anything I've heard from her. This will be reviewed in entirety when we get ourselves a copy. Here's some pass on:

  • Link to the first song off the album, Jubilee.
  • This is Smith's first album in 4 years.
  • Will be released in LP (2) Gatefold, and gatefold digipak CD. Interestingly, the LP release will feature a different cover shot than the CD issue.
  • The first shot is the CD cover while the second shot is the LP. Me? I prefer the LP shot. The LP will be limited edition.
  • Interested? Check out Patti Smith's website for all things Patti. www.pattismith.net.
  • Track listing - jubilee / mother rose / stride of the rose / cartwheels / gandhi / trepasses / my blakean year / cash / peaceable kingdom / radio baghdad / trampin'.

Fans of Three Dog Night, take note. Although we've mentioned this release some months back, here's the skinny on their upcoming May 25 Geffen issue of Three Dog Night: The Complete Hit Singles. April 20, 2004

3..2..1...And we're live! That's right folks. After a lengthy but revitalizing trip to the island of Hawai'i, TAP is back to basics, bringing you the new release news and reviews to help in your purchasing decisions as well as those entertaining and informative columns.

I have to admit to being a sort of weepy crybaby. Bill Hunt and I recently collaborated on an article on Sirius Radio. In large part, it helped to fulfill a need for radio discrepency. But I've gone on a trip and that means fillin' up the ole IPOD. This time I created a playlist of old 60s, 70s, and 80s radio favourites and damn if I didn't get all weepy missing the experience of that music as it unleashed itself on the radio...back in the day. It didn't help when I acquired some single videos on Universal's way cool 20th Century Masters DVD Collection. There was Tears for Fears, ABC, Styx, and Asia collections; 5-6 videos on each. And again, I'm reminded of all that great old music coming off the radio. I bloody miss my radio...I MISS IT!!! Discovery...Regionalism...Great Music. Not that today's music doesn't cut the mustard. Of course, it's for a different time but radio with all its charm and revelation just fell off the face of the earth . Methinks I whine too much or perhaps even demand too much of life. I don't wanna be nostalgic...I wanna be entertained.

At least we're back. And we have a bevy of stuff to tell you about. So without too many commercial interruptions or any more of my emotional spillage, I'll proceed to clue you in on the cool stuff coming our way.

We have a revival of an old column, The John Dunphy Experience. And we're glad to see John back in the pulpit with his usual wit and charm. Also in the wings is a review by George Bennett of The Who's Live at Royal Albert Hall on SACD. Check in tomorrow for the likely inclusions of these two items.

It's really good to be back. See you tomorrow.
